Since 1998, Phil and Robin Malcolm have served as Assemblies of God missionaries to the children of Africa.
Phil serves as the director for Africa’s Children, the Assemblies of God Africa region’s branch for children’s ministry and compassion. In his role, Phil is responsible for developing ministry to children on the African continent. In the last two years alone, he has worked in twelve different nations; He is involved in numerous compassion projects, including building schools, vocational training centers, orphan care centers and children’s outreaches. He is also involved in developing culturally-appropriate teaching materials for churches with little financial resources and training teachers to use their limited resources.
Phil and Robin have served as resident children’s missionaries in the nations of Togo and Côte d’Ivoire West Africa. While in residence, they trained pastors and national leaders to do children’s ministries in their own churches. They built Sunday schools for churches unable to afford their own facilities. They provided curriculum and training to equip local churches to reach out to children in their own neighborhoods. They hosted an outreach/ health-care festival for children which was attended by 40,000 children.
Prior to their appointment to foreign missions, Phil and Robin served as children’s pastors in Washington and Oregon.
The Malcolms have two teenage children: Jake and Grace, who also serve in children’s ministries in Africa whenever possible.
