Prayer Requests:

November - December 2007

  • Please pray for the development of opportunities to help children’s ministries in other West African nations. Since Thanksgiving, we have had the opportunity to connect and minister in Burkina Faso, Benin and Ghana, as well as Togo.  Please pray with us that these open doors will lead to more occasions to help strengthen children’s ministries in these nations.
  • Please pray for the Assemblies of God of Togo Children’s Ministries Department. Under the leadership of Pastor KPANTE Djato and the National Children’s Department, this national church is planning for 2008, and working to reach the children of Togo.  Pray that God would give the leaders wisdom to know how to help churches build their ministries.  Pray for a refreshing of their vision for ministering to children, and the occasion to ignite a passion in the local churches.
  • Please continue to pray for the Children’s Ministry Toolbox project. We appreciate your continued prayers for new projects in development. We need wisdom to know how to begin developing new tools, who to work with, and to know how to prioritize the need.
  • Praise report: Thank you for your prayers for the “Jesus et Moi” Sunday school curriculum.  After over a year of pursuing a contract with the publisher, we now have a signed agreement that allows the national churches of Africa to re-print this excellent, culturally-appropriate curriculum in French! Please continue to remember this project in prayer, as we are still working on having the curriculum translated into English.
  • Please pray for our family’s personal needs. Our family has been struggling with some personal challenges related to our location on the field. Please pray for peace, for healing, and for friendships for us and for our children.

September - October 2007

  • Please continue to pray for our health.  All four of us have struggled with malaria. Both Phil and Robin have had it multiple times in just a few months. Jake has struggled with serious skin infections
  • Please pray for the Assemblies of God churches in Gblanvie-Centre and Adjodogou (Both in Togo) In August, a ministry team from Lakewood NJ built new Tabernacle churches in each location and the churches hosted evangelistic crusades. There were around 250 decisions for Christ during these crusades, but the reality of winning people to Christ here means that these churches will need God’s wisdom to retain and disciple these new converts.
  • Please pray for the Children’s Ministry Toolbox project. We are working hard to make forward progress in providing relevant curriculum and ministry tools to African churches, and we need the Lord to direct the project.
  • Please pray for Jake and Grace as they begin a new school year. Pray for kind and caring teachers, and for good friends for each of them.
  • Please pray for God’s grace and strength on a daily basis. Africa is not an easy place to live and work.
